The USEPA method 501 is an analytical method that utilizes a purge & trap device for sample prep and a gas chromatograph equipped with a packed column to perform the seperation of the volatile halogenated components found in a 5 mL sample of drinkingwater. To detect the GC eluant, a Hall detector is used.
