 7170 ElectroFluxer
A fully automated electric fusion fluxer for fused bead production
that can fuse up to 4 samples an hour in a single heater module
with a programmable controller. The entire process of fusion is
automated, controlling the heating time, mixing time and speed,
and the cooling time for the finished bead.
All parameters for the fusion can be modified and stored in one of
the ten positions in the controller. The controller also operates in
manual mode for training and method development. One controller
can operate up to four heater modules.
The ElectroFluxer can easily be reconfigured to prepare solutions
instead of fusion beads.
Molds and crucibles are sold separately.
Fluxes are also available from SPEX SamplePrep.

7172 ElectroFluxer Heater Module
Sold without 7171 Controller. Includes safety cabinet, heater with agitation mechanism, mold-crucible arm for loading, heating, and pouring fusions. Add up to three extra Heater Modules to the basic 7170 ElectroFluxer for increased production and versatility. |
7178 ElectroShield
The ElectroShield is a thin sheet of nickel-chrome alloy that attaches to the heat shield of the ElectroFluxer Crucible/Mold Clip, where it prevents build-up of fusion by-products that can contaminate a fusion, or fall into the mold during a pour. The ElectroShield is a necessary “disposable” that can be easily installed, and easily removed when contaminated. ElectroShields are available in boxes of 20. |

•SPEX SamplePrep offers high-purity non-wetting agents from SPEX CertiPrep. These will dramatically increase the surface tension of the molten flux that is being used. Using non-wetting agents makes it possible to have a clean and complete pour of the molten flux. Not only does a non-wetting agent keep the molten flux from sticking to the crucible during the pour, but it should prevent the end-user from having to clean the crucible after each pour. •SPEX SamplePrep recommends two types of uses in conjunction with our non-wetting agents. First, one can put these salts into solution and add the agent dropwise directly into the dry flux mixture and mix. Or second, one can weigh out and add the solid salt directly into the dry flux mixture and mix.
